Dome Of Clouds

Basic sketches of the artwork “Dome Of Clouds”  or the chair of clouds.
The idea of softness is to free fly and feel the cold soft breeze running along the smooth clouds. The chair represent the softness of the clouds, and its will be made out of soft white smooth cotton material that will give you the feeling of as if your laying in a dome of cloud.

The Making of 'Angel of Softness'

Most Art is too valuable, precious, or protected by glass or chains for you to get your hands on .The saying ‘look but don’t touch” fits this well. The Art of Baby Softness, however, flips this on its head, as you can experience it through both sight and touch.

Hmmm...So as soft as a Feather? Or as soft as a silk? Nothing can be as soft as a baby skin that’s for sure.

The first time I heard about the whole idea of baby soft art, I had petals and feathers going around my head. It was the first thing that came to my mind & obviously the thing what motivated me most. With fashion being my muse, I wanted to represent Baby Softness through Fashion. With my fingers itching, I started to sketch ...

I’ve always been drawn to flowers, femininity, vintage style, and elegance. My current work (which I will give you a sneak peak of) is definitely going to give you that feel; a female mannequin representing an Angel and her dress made of Pink & White rose petals, feathers & silk. With her angelic feather wings, I call her ‘’Angel of Softness’’.

TIP: I used thermo coal pink balls. As you can see in the pic below, not only are they soft, but they are also perfect for giving the look and impression of pearls.

Keeping the Softness colour in mind, the idea of designing this soft item dress was inspired by delicate Givenchy Riccardo Tisci (below) & Christian Dior A/W10 flower power collection.

Doesn’t the picture make the words - softness, delicate, angelic - spring to mind? It’s just such an inspirational pic

Since I am close to completion, I wanted to share with you some pics of how I got started. So here it is, starting with the leg. Yes…..The Angel has one leg all covered with petals. I did not plan on doing needle sculpting, as the main idea was to make it look like a brand symbol of Angelic Softness sculpture in form of Fashion :)

Moving on to the Shoulder & body,i created flowers out of individual petals ,then got to work covering my angel.

My Next blog is coming soon, where I will reveal more detailed work. I hope my idea has inspired some of you to go extreme with your creativity..
